Rev. Dr. Kortney M. Warren, MTh, MHA

Meet The Pastor
"Half the Battle is Knowing... The other half is Doing!"  -Pastor K.

Rev. Warren was born February 9, 1984, in Nashville, TN. He was licensed to preach the Gospel by Mount Nebo Missionary Baptist Church on January 8, 2012. He was ordained to the work of the Gospel Ministry by Stateland Missionary Baptist Church on January 5, 2019.

During a 2003 deployment to Iraq, Pastor Warren felt God's call to ministry but initially resisted. He soon realized, "It doesn't matter how much you argue or try to change God's mind, His will shall prevail." Accepting his calling in 2011, he preached his first sermon, "In the Midst of it All" (Daniel 3:19-27), on January 22, 2012, at Mount Nebo Missionary Baptist Church under Pastor Lawrence K. Reed, Jr.

Pastor Warren is a dedicated member of the Nashville Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Prince Hall Lodge #1 of Free and Accepted Masons, and James A. Henry Consistory #48 AASR (PHA). As a law enforcement officer, he advocates for policy changes against racial profiling and injustices in the criminal justice system. His commitment to serving youth led him to work in the Juvenile Justice Division.

He has held positions as associate minister and Director of Christian Education at Mount Nebo Missionary Baptist Church, District Chaplain for the Nashville Masonic District, Associate Minister of Finance at Cedar Grove Primitive Baptist Church, Chaplain for the United States Army, Associate Minister at Stateland Missionary Baptist Church, and Website Administrator for the Stones River District Association. Rev. Warren holds degrees in biology, sociology, healthcare administration, theological studies, and Christian education, culminating in a Ph.D. in Systematic Theology. He currently serves as a Captain in the United States Army.

Pastor Warren's favorite scripture is Romans 8:28 and his favorite quote is: "Being a Medical Service Officer in the Army, my doctors may not be able to heal you physically, but I know a doctor who can heal you spiritually. And his name is Jesus!”
